If y’all follow me on Instagram than you would have seen my pic of this mouth watering pastry creation. Quiet frankly they’re homemade “pop-tarts”, but a friend was teasing me that that was trademarked so we’ll just call them Pocket Pastries.
Here’s a link to the original recipe (which I did not create). I stayed pretty close to the recipe except I didn’t do the icing at the end and next time I’ll make the pockets thinner and smaller.
You can honestly do any jam or jelly, or even brown sugar filling if you wanted to.
Pro-tip: that my boss actually passed on, but if you take your leftover dough and roll it out in a line and the paint some of your leftover egg yolk on it than drizzle with cinnamon, sugar, and brown sugar; roll it, cut it and bake it for 7-10 minutes, you get these amazing Roll-ups.
If that doesn’t make you hungry I don’t know what will. Now get baking!
